A Warm Welcome to Colinton Care Home in Edinburgh

Set in large, landscaped grounds, Colinton Care Home is beautifully located in Merchiston, Midlothian, offering a range of care types including respite care and nursing care.

One of our family members fed back to us: “The staff at the home are fantastic they can’t do enough for my dad. He is very happy there. It was such a stressful period but all the staff were so kind and caring that the transition went smoothly. My dad said the food is great. I couldn’t be more pleased with the surroundings and the staff are fantastic.”

Our Care at Colinton Care Home

We offer brighterkind care – a person-centred approach that is delivered through quality care, recreation and activities, and food and dining.

Our residents experience warm and gentle care from a team who know them well and benefit from regular activities.

“My father was given the best possible care from his first day to his last in Colinton Care Home. He was treated with dignity, respect and gentle banter by all the staff, whether nursing, caring or auxiliary. Staff also ensured that I was well informed of any changes to my father’s health and well-being, and were always guided by what would achieve the best outcome. All staff are warm and empathetic to residents and their family members. I cannot recommend Colinton more highly.” – Daughter of Resident, via carehome.co.uk

Key Information

We provide care for those paying for their own care and in some cases where there might also be a contribution from the local authority or NHS Trust. For those paying for their own care we provide an indicative weekly fee.  For those fully or partly funded by public funds, we may require an additional top up contribution.  Before you move into our home, we will go through the fees with you and provide you with the Terms and Conditions of Residency and information about the fees for the care you require and the room you select.

It’s important to get professional advice on the best way to fund the cost of care and we suggest that you take advice from a care fees expert to make sure that you have explored all the options available to you.

In order to make life easier we have contacted a national care fees planning specialist, Symponia who are dedicated to the financial issues of later life, in particular the payment of care fees. Through Symponia’s network of carefully selected and qualified financial advisers they offer you and/or your family member empathic, bespoke advice on the best way to fund weekly care fees. This approach ensures that not only are all our residents and their families aware of the legislation and how it works but they are able to explore all the financial options available to them.

It should be noted that brighterkind and Symponia operate completely independently with no commission or financial benefit to brighterkind as a result of your conversation or contract.
