Our Magic Moments activities programme is jam-packed with things to do and learn, places to visit, live entertainment and exercise and relaxation sessions; it’s all about the joy of having fun together.

Whether we’re celebrating a special occasion or simply enjoying a cuppa and a chat, we welcome family, friends and members of our community to come along and join us.

Wheaton Aston Court Care Home, Stafford, Children in Need day

Wheaton Aston Court Care Home raised money for Children In Need by dressing up and doing some fun activities.

The Granby Care Home held a ‘Gents Club’ where residents enjoyed ale and bar snacks, watched a comedy and enjoyed making new friends.

St Catherines, Bolton, Children in Need day

At St Catherines Care Home we had a live performance from singer Sean as part of our Children In Need day where we raised money for the incredible charity.

Resident Freda at Lansdowne Care Home celebrated her 100th birthday with all of the team and her family.

Ashbourne Court, Andover, Remembrance Day

In honour of Remembrance Day, our residents at Ashbourne Court Care Home have been cutting out and colouring over 100 poppies to decorate a tree outside our home.

Angusfield, Aberdeen, International Food Event

Our International Food Festival event here at Angusfield House Care Home was a tremendous success. We enjoyed dishes from many countries including Nigeria, India, Romania, Italy and the Philippines.

Brockwell Court, Consett, Animal Shelter visit

Brockwell Court Care Home were thrilled to meet some of the furry residents at our local Animal Rescue centre when we visited them to drop off our donations, which were greatly appreciated!

Redwell Hills, Consett, Children in Need day

Redwell Hills Care Home held a coffee morning in aid of Children in Need and everyone on the team wore matching Pudsey shirts to show their support!

We decided to bring some colour to the dining area and tried our hand at flower arranging here at Wheaton Aston Court Care Home!

Tudor House Care Home celebrated Halloween with a party!

At St Catherines Care Home we all wore pink for Pinktober and successfully raised money for breast cancer charities.

Resident Dorothy at Riverside Court Care Home, an ex-music teacher, spent some time composing songs with fellow resident Andrew, who enjoys singing.

Redwell Hills Care Home, Consett, Butterfly World

We took a trip to Butterfly World in Stockton where our Redwell Hills Care Home residents loved seeing all of the beautiful plants, and were lucky enough to have the butterflies land on our shoulders and hands!

Bishopsmead Lodge, Bristol, Food bank donations

We’ve been collecting for our local food bank at Bishopsmead Lodge Care Home as part of our harvest celebrations and they were very happy to receive our donations. Thank you to all team members, residents and their families who helped us to gather so many items!

Macmillan Community Coffee Mornings

Our homes have been hosting Community Coffee Mornings in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

We’ve had lots of fun, with plenty of bake sales, raffles, sing-alongs, tombolas and more! It has been a wonderful opportunity to embrace our links with the local community and it’s been great to see so many local celebrities and dignitaries attending our events.

Macmillan is a cause close to many of our hearts and so it has been a joy to see everyone come together to support such a wonderful charity. We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who attended one of our events!

The total to date raised by our care homes and central support teams is well over £10,400. Well done everyone!

At Wheaton Aston Court Care Home’s Coffee Morning, our VIP guests included Councillor Meg Barrow and local Reverend Rachel.

Emberbrook Care Home resident Eva went on a trip to the seaside as a celebration of her 90^th birthday with all of her family.

Kingston Care Home got stuck in to BBQ preparations.

Maple Lodge Care Home residents went out blackberry picking and used their findings to make a delicious crumble.

Partying in Pink: Our TEAth Parties for Sepsis Awareness Month

As part of our drive to evolve and continuously improve the quality of care, our homes are recognising Sepsis Awareness Month throughout September.

If you would like to learn and read more about Sepsis and how to prevent it, please visit our page on the risk of Sepsis in older age.

Through eLearning, events, quizzes, videos, webinars and supervisory sessions are teams, residents, their families and visitors have been becoming better informed on simple ways to help prevent infection which can lead to sepsis.

Our pink themed TEAth parties were a fun way to share a serious message about the importance of good oral hygiene to help reduce the risk of sepsis.

Hollie Hill Care Home’s TEAth party was a great success and attended by Jacqui Ritchie, COO and Janine Graham, National Head of Quality and Governance, both from Four Seasons Health Care Group.

One of the highlights of our TEAth Party at Kingston Care Home was our ‘mocktail’ making class, where we all had a go at making Strawberry Lemonade and Raspberry Mojitos.

We had an afternoon sing-along at Riverside Court Care Home with plenty of delicious treats. It was a great chance to socialise with other residents whilst raising awareness.

Team members and residents alike got stuck into our colouring session at Maple Lodge Care Home, which we followed with a quiz! It was a great way to raise awareness for sepsis.

There were plenty of smiles and a lot of laughter at our party at Ashbourne Court Care Home! Before a talk on oral healthcare, we decorated biscuits while all wearing pink.

Residents from Charlton Park Care Home took a trip Herne Bay and enjoyed a lovely fish and chips lunch. We ended the day with ice cream and a stroll by the sea.

We celebrated Tudor House Care Home resident Sheila’s 80th birthday by throwing her a surprise party with all of her family and friends.

Kingston Care Home got stuck in to BBQ preparations.

Redwell Hills Care Home residents took a trip to Wheelbirks Ice Cream Parlour, it was a great way to cool ourselves down and enjoy some fresh air.

At Kingston Care Home we elected to go for a colour festival theme for our Garden Party, with cocktails, fruit salad, jellies and cupcakes. We had live entertainment and everyone dressed in their brightest clothes!

We brought the beach to St Catherines Care Home with fish and chips as our refreshments at our garden party.
